Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass ETS ParaPro or Praxis with a 455+ score or hold an Associate degree or higher.
• Have 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher.
• Complete a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and supports to elementary and/or secondary students as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in one-to-one and small group instruction to meet each student’s IEP goals.
• Maintain data on student progress and assist in administering tests.
• Prepare instructional materials and implement behavioral management strategies as outlined by the teacher.
