Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking an Education Support Professional/Paraeducator to support a Grade 2 student in the LRC program. This position starts November 2026, with 0.8125 FTE and 6.5 instructional hours plus a 0.5 hour lunch, on campus.

Salary supports WA ESP rates: BA or higher degree at $30.50 per hour, with benefits and professional development requirements, including state paraeducator certificate training within defined timeframes.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a school setting and implement instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students individually or in small groups under teacher direction.
• Assist with self-care activities (feeding, dressing, toileting) and related care.
• Supervise students during recess and meals; assist with bus loading/unloading.
• Record student progress and maintain data toward IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Assist in adapting materials and using adaptive equipment to meet student needs.
