Job summary

Candidates must complete the General Paraeducator Certificate and will undergo 28 hours of district training. The position offers full benefits and requires a commitment to 183 work days per year.

Qualifications

• State General Paraeducator Certificate required within stated timeframe.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to be trained within 90 days.
• Associate degree or 72 credit hours and ability to assist in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students individually or in small groups as directed by teacher.
• Assist with activities of daily living and self-care tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during recess and lunch, transport as required.
• Record student progress and communicate with staff and parents.
• Assist in adapting materials and using adaptive equipment to meet needs.
