Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking an Education Support Professional to assist a Grade 2 student in the LRC program. The role requires completing the General Paraeducator Certificate within specified timelines and includes extensive instructional assistance and supervision.

You'll work under a certificated teacher, support academic interventions, supervise during meals and transitions, and help with data collection and communications with families and staff. Benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• 72 college credits or passed the Para Pro Test.
• AA degree qualifies for higher pay.
• BA or higher degree qualifies for higher pay.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students individually or in small groups.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and bus loading.
• Record student progress and communicate with teachers and families.
• Assist with meals and daily living activities as needed.
• Support teachers with materials, tests, and classroom setup.
