Qualifications

• ASL proficiency with demonstrated interpreting experience in school settings.
• National certification such as EIPA, RID, or the ability to meet state requirements for educational interpreting.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration between students, staff and families.
• Familiarity with adapting interpretation for various age groups and learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, accurate interpreting services for students, ensuring access to classroom instruction, discussions, activities, and events.
• Work closely with teachers and staff to understand instructional goals, enabling inclusive educational experiences.
• Support student participation in special programs, assemblies, and field trips.
• Assist in developing communication strategies and resources tailored to individual student needs.
• Maintain detailed records as required by educational guidelines and provide feedback on student progress.
