Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking School-Based Paraprofessionals (Instructional Aides) for PK-12 Special Education. This full-time, onsite role provides 1:1, 2:1, or classroom support to students with significant needs, collaborating with educators and support teams.

Start dates are staggered between mid-November and mid-December 2026. Pay is $26-$30 per hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule (32.5 hours/week), no evenings or overnights, and W-2 employment. Sites may vary across districts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 10 months of experience with moderate to severe behaviors.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, 2:1, and classroom-wide support throughout the school day, and float between classrooms or sites when needed.
• Provide behavioral support and intervention for students with moderate to severe behaviors, using positive reinforcement and safety procedures.
• Assist with toileting and diapering, feeding, and mobility assistance for students of all ages.
• Reinforce teacher-led lessons, instructional activities, and classroom routines.
• Provide emotional support and general academic support, including help with assignments.
• Collect and document data as directed by the teacher and school team.
• Support implementation of IEP accommodations and behavior plans as directed.
• Assist students during transitions, arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess as assigned.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and administrators.
