Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform critical care and diagnostic procedures for patients of all ages.

The role includes equipment setup, patient assessment, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to deliver optimal cardiopulmonary care. The ideal candidate has NBRC RRT credentials and an active Texas license, with ACLS/NRP where required, and BLS current.

Qualifications

• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Graduate of an AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT).
• Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU staff.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for ICU staff.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment.
• Perform cardiopulmonary hemodynamics procedures.
• Demonstrate competency in airway care.
• Assess patients appropriately and interpret results.
• Maintain documentation and provide timely updates to care plans.
• Communicate with physicians and nurses about patient care plans.
