Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Respiratory Therapy team.

You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across emergency, ICU, and acute care settings, using advanced respiratory technology and collaborating with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality care. The ideal candidate will have NBRC-RRT certification, state licensure, and an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy, with ACLS/BCLS

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NBRC-RRT certification required.
• RRT/RCP-State licensure required.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status with focused exams and interpret breath sounds.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy: oxygen support, aerosols, airway clearance, and other treatments.
• Manage ventilation and airway interventions, including invasive/noninvasive ventilation.
• Educate patients and families; partner with physicians and nurses; support newborns when needed.
• Maintain equipment, ensure safety, perform preventive maintenance and infection-control practices.
