Job summary

The Mukilteo School District Challenger Elementary in Everett, WA is hiring a Paraeducator for 6.0 hours per day, 180 days per year with benefits. Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

(1 hour unpaid 12:30–1:30). You will assist the teacher with diverse learners and may help with special education services, safety, and classroom tasks. Minimum qualifications include WA State para qualifications or equivalent education.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess one of: associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits, apprenticeship, or PESB assessments.
• Ability to supervise students, follow safety guidelines and support diverse learners.
• Willingness to learn and apply safety and classroom technologies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily supervision to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect data, update records, and track student progress.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with staff.
• Implement strategies to support diverse student needs and growth.
• Provide clerical help and prepare classroom materials as needed.
• Administer first aid and assist with physical/medical needs of students.
• Assist with transportation, crossing guard duties, and cafeteria supervision.
• Attend meetings/trainings to support school initiatives and student needs.
