Job summary

Mukilteo School District Discovery Elementary in Everett, WA seeks a 1:1 Paraeducator to support a student with individualized needs. The role runs 6.25 hours per day for 180 days annually, with a start as soon as possible.

Hours are 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. under teacher supervision. Requires WA state paraeducator qualifications; prior 1:1 paraeducator experience is a plus. Benefits are included with this position.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Meet one of the following requirements: associate degree or 72 credits or an approved paraeducator program or PESB/ParaPro assessment.
• Experience working with children is preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with daily supervision of students to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, track progress, and maintain student records as directed.
• Support with behavior management and adapt instruction for diverse learners.
• Provide general classroom assistance including materials, clerical tasks, and logistics for activities.
• Perform crossing guard duties and supervise students before/after school as needed.
