Job summary

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Hold an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, or passing PESB-approved assessments.
• May be required to complete behavior modification programs, including safe physical restraining techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily supervision to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect data, update records, and assess student progress under supervision.
• Monitor and manage student behavior, support individual growth and achievement goals.
• Provide clerical and classroom assistance, including data entry and preparation of materials.
• Provide first aid and personal care for students as needed, including assistance for students with special needs.
