Job summary

Mukilteo Elementary in Mukilteo, WA is seeking a Paraeducator to work 6.5 hours per day across 180 days per year, supporting students with challenging behaviors within the MBSC program. The role reports to the Principal and starts immediately.

Responsibilities include assisting with planning and delivery of instruction, supervising students in multiple settings, and assisting with special education services as needed. Prior paras experience with elementary students is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum WA State para qualifications and experience working with children.
• Preferred: experience with elementary students and those with behavior and social-emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with planning, preparation and delivery of instruction for diverse learners.
• Supervise students at recess, lunch, library and during bus duties; perform crossing guard duties.
• Administer tests, collect and maintain data, update records, and monitor student progress under teacher supervision.
• Support implementation of strategies to address diverse student needs and educational growth.
• Provide clerical and classroom support such as data entry, copying and material preparation.
• Administer first aid and provide personal care for medically fragile or disabled students.
• Assist with feeding, toileting, lifting and positioning for students with special needs.
• Track and dispense authorized student medications as needed.
• Ensure a safe, clean and positive learning environment and participate in staff trainings.
