Job summary

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet one of the educational requirements listed (degree, credits, apprenticeship, or PESB test).
• Basic paraeducator qualifications for Washington state and experience with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily supervision to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect data, update records and assess student progress.
• Support with behavior, tracking progress and implementing instructional strategies.
• Provide clerical assistance and help with materials; assist with crossing guard duties.
• Offer first aid, medical support and personal care as needed for students.

Basic WA State Para qualifications

Associate degree or higher

72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits (at 100 level or higher)

Completed an apprenticeship as paraeducator

PESB approved assessments (ParaPro, Pearson, Master Teacher)
