Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing in Cary, IL is seeking an onsite Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract focuses on accurate interpretation of classroom activities and collaboration with teachers to support Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students.

You will interpret instruction, engage students in learning, and ensure confidentiality and ethics while coordinating with families and staff. Prior school experience is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• ASL proficiency and Deaf culture understanding.
• Experience in school settings preferred.
• Strong collaboration with teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Interpret classroom instruction and discussions with confidentiality.
• Support student engagement in academics and activities.
• Adapt interpreting techniques to student needs and classroom needs.
• Consult with teachers and special education teams for accommodations.
• Maintain records and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
