Job summary

E-Therapy is seeking a dedicated Onsite American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter in Cary, IL for the 26/27 school year. The role provides real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL for middle school Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, teachers, and staff in classroom and activity settings.

Requirements include ISBE approval or IDHHC, a degree in ASL interpretation, NIC/EIPA 3.5+ or equivalent, and strong ASL-English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ASL Interpretation or related field.
• NIC, EIPA 3.5+ or equivalent certification mentioned in the posting.
• Proficiency in ASL and English with strong receptive and expressive skills.
• Understanding of educational settings and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, teachers, and staff.
• Facilitate communication during instruction, meetings, assessments and school events.
• Interpret and adapt educational materials for clarity and comprehension.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance learning experiences.
