Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a school setting. This on-site contract position emphasizes breaking down communication barriers and fostering inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities include providing ASL interpretation for classroom instruction and events, collaborating with faculty, and maintaining confidentiality. Valid educator certification and EIPA/NIC credentials are required, with ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Valid Educator Certification required.
• EIPA written test with a minimum score of 75%.
• Either a 4.0 or higher on the EIPA performance assessment or hold an active NIC from RID.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate ASL interpretation for students and staff during classroom instruction and events.
• Adapt interpretation style to fit student ages and needs.
• Collaborate with faculty, administration, and special education teams to support learning goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times.
• Foster an inclusive, accessible, and positive school culture.
• Stay current with industry best practices and continuing education requirements.
