Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Capital City Sports Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The role focuses on supporting students with IEPs within an inclusive, standards-based classroom.

The position emphasizes collaboration with teachers and families to promote academic and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, writing IEP goals, and facilitating IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full-room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support educational and behavioral goals for all students, with focus on students with IEPs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities and adapt intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction and behavioral assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans and IEP goals/objectives.
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and communicate with families about student growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities and events as needed.
