Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas seeks an Intake Registered Nurse to assist in receiving, scheduling, and triaging inbound calls and referrals within the admissions department. The role supports leadership through systematic processes, verifies insurance in real time and helps coordinate admission placement for patients in need of services.

Key duties include processing information requests, arranging admissions, performing pre-certifications, and maintaining necessary records.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid RN license with the State of Texas.
• Experience in behavioral health assessment and/or treatment.
• At least one year of acute behavioral health hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive referral calls, obtain demographic information, and refer the call or schedule an assessment.
• Process requests for information and external referrals.
• Complete pre-certifications as needed.
• Assist in arranging admission, including verification of benefits and physician communications.
• Determine what Releases of Information are needed and process them accordingly.
• Assist in obtaining required records and information.
• Arrange disposition and community resources; communicate with the Treatment Coordinator as indicated.
• Maintain statistics and support outcome studies and other data as assigned.
• Maintain good communication with Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff.
• Maintain a log of calls and dispositions and other informational tools as assigned.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and provide good customer service.
• Assess, diagnose and treat a variety of patient populations; work with adults and seniors.
