Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is seeking an Intake Registered Nurse to assist in receiving, scheduling and triaging inbound calls and referrals within the admissions department. The role supports leadership through systematic processes, reviews assessments, and verifies insurance in real time to facilitate admission.

The position focuses on direct patient care (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment) with non-direct duties such as clinical supervision and documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid RN, LPC, LPC-A, LMSW, or LCSW license with the State of Texas.
• Experience in behavioral health assessment and/or treatment.
• At least one-year previous experience in an acute behavioral health hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
• Process all requests for information and external referrals.
• Complete pre-certifications as needed.
• Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office to begin verification of benefits.
• Determine what Releases of Information are needed and process them accordingly.
• Assist in obtaining needed records and information.
• Arrange disposition and community resources and coordinate with the Treatment Coordinator.
• Maintain statistics and support the Outcome Study and other data as assigned.
• Maintain communication with Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff.
• Maintain a log of received calls and dispositions and other tools.
