Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is an inpatient behavioral health facility located in Garland, Texas, providing psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, and senior adults. The Intake Registered Nurse role involves receiving, scheduling, and triaging inbound calls and referrals across the admissions department.

The incumbent will support leadership with systematic processes, review assessments, and verify insurance in real time to facilitate timely admission.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a valid RN license with the State of Texas.
• Experience in behavioral health assessment and/or treatment.
• At least one-year previous experience in an acute behavioral health hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
• Process all requests for information and external referrals.
• Completes pre-certifications as needed.
• Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.
• Determine what Releases of Information are needed, and process them accordingly, per policy.
• Assist in obtaining needed records and information.
• Arrange disposition and community resources. Communicate with the designated Treatment Coordinator as indicated.
• Maintain all statistics; provide support to the Outcome Study, and other data, as assigned.
