Job summary

Lancaster County Government is seeking an Intake Support Specialist to join the Central Intake Unit of Adult Probation and Parole Services. The role involves conducting intake interviews, assessing individuals through the court process, and coordinating with probation officers for caseload assignments.

The position requires a high school diploma (Associates degree preferred) and the ability to pass a criminal background check; frequent interaction with clients, court staff, and service providers

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school graduate.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Interview newly sentenced or paroled individuals to explain probation and/or parole requirements and processes, ascertain personal data, and obtain agreement to rules.
• Determine if special conditions are ordered by the Court and facilitate initial referral to the appropriate agency.
• Enter sentence computations, special condition information, and probation maximum expiration dates into APPS' computer program.
• Maintain responsibility for cases where clients are under supervision but have not reported for intake; send failure-to-report letters when warranted.
• Complete transfer packets on clients not living within the county.
