Job summary

Optum's Patient Care division (via LHC Group) is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities include performing prescribed exercises, routine documentation, coordinating care with the healthcare team, and educating patients and caregivers. A weekend rotation is required, with a comprehensive benefits package and 401(k) contributions.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home care physical therapy and act within the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, and transfer training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes to the supervising PT and care team.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy within the PT scope.
