Job summary

Caretenders, a part of LHC Group and the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in a home-care setting.

You will follow the established plan of care, assist with active and passive exercises, gait training, transfer, safety, and mobility, and document patient progress while coordinating with the care team. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and plan of care defined by supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, and mobility.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patient, family, and other team members in therapy areas within PTA scope.
