Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to perform treatment and patient education in home care settings, following a plan of care established by a supervising Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include aiding in exercises, gait and mobility training, and communicating patient progress to the care team.

Eligibility requires PTA licensure, CPR, and weekend availability; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home care physical therapy as defined by the supervising PT
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and coordinate care with the healthcare team
• Instruct patients, families, care teams in therapy areas within PTA scope
• Function in diverse home environments regardless of client demographics
