Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Specialist (CNTY) to evaluate SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP applications and renewals in a county office. You will conduct high-volume interviews, determine eligibility, and authorize benefits when applicable.

You will maintain confidential client records, document activities, and ensure accuracy for audits. The role requires a valid driver's license and field work as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent
• Associate Degree or higher may be substituted for required experience

Responsibilities

• Performs SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP eligibility determination and benefit authorizations.
• Conducts 15 quality interviews per day via phone or in person for applications and renewals.
• Maintains case records in agency systems and documents activities for eligibility and auditing.
• Identifies and reports overpayments; prepares supporting documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as directed.
• Participates in required trainings and staff meetings; protects PII and agency data.
