Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of the Economic Services Program in the Charleston County office and supervise eligibility staff across SNAP, TANF and ESAP.

The role requires rigor in case reviews, data integrity, and strong communication with providers and community partners. State benefits and opportunities for professional growth are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or Behavioral Science.
• Master’s degree may substitute for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans daily administrative function of Economic Services Program and supervises eligibility staff.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal laws; performs monthly case reviews.
• Supervises staff serving TANF, SNAP, ESAP; may supervise case managers.
• Performs required monthly case reviews for each worker.
• Ensures client data is entered into systems and management reports are monitored.
• Represents the agency in meetings with service providers and community contacts; participates in trainings.
• Communicates effectively and manages expectations for service delivery and accountability.
• Directs supervision including training new hires, meetings, and employee recognition.
• Protects personal identifying information (PII) and agency networks; ensures data security.
• Participates in Red Cross training and shelter duty as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
