Job summary

The Department of Children and Families in Florida seeks an Eligibility Specialist I to determine eligibility for Food Assistance, Medicaid, and Cash Assistance. You will review data from various sources, enter information into the eligibility system, and manage a high-volume caseload in a deadline-driven environment.

This role requires either two years of relevant experience or an associate degree (or equivalent) and includes mandatory training.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of customer service, interviewing, recruiting, investigating, accounting, processing insurance policies or determining eligibility.
• Ability to attend an 8 - 12-week mandatory training course.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing applicants to determine eligibility for Food Assistance, Medicaid, and Cash Assistance.
• Reviewing applications and forms for completeness and accuracy.
• Determining program eligibility under current regulations using a computer-based system.
• Managing an electronic caseload and maintaining timely processing.
