Job summary

The State of Indiana is hiring a State Eligibility Consultant within the Division of Family Resources. You will process and review applications, changes, and redeterminations for SNAP, Medicaid and TANF, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations, and authorize benefits.

Responsibilities include interviewing applicants, updating case information, providing feedback for peer coaching, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the DFR accuracy review process.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy, practices, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of computerized eligibility systems.
• Demonstrates effective interview and communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible and self-motivated in managing multiple priorities.
• A degree is not required.

Responsibilities

• Review eligibility recommendations and determine benefits in compliance with rules.
• Examine data for inconsistencies and ensure accuracy of determinations.
• Conduct full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid applicants.
• Keep current on changes in rules and guidelines.
