The State of Indiana is seeking a qualified professional to review eligibility recommendations, determine benefits eligibility, and conduct interviews for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid. You will work with contract staff and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines while staying informed on program changes.

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to conduct full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF and Medicaid.
• Experience with state/federal rules and eligibility guidelines.
• Proficient in using computerized eligibility systems.
• Able to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when dealing with diverse clients.
• Demonstrates effective interview and communication abilities.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently or in a team.
• A degree is not required.

Responsibilities

• Review all eligibility recommendations and information provided by contract staff.
• Make an eligibility determination for benefits and waiver programs in compliance with rules.
• Examine data matches for inconsistencies and unreported data.
• Approve claims computed by the Contractor.
• Conduct full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF and Medicaid applicants.
• Stay updated on changes in policies and guidelines.
