The State of Indiana seeks a State Eligibility Consultant to ensure accuracy and integrity of benefits for DFR programs. You will review applications, changes, and redeterminations for SNAP, Medicaid and TANF, make corrections, update case data, and authorize benefits.

You will also provide feedback for peer coaching and reporting to improve accuracy. The role involves interviewing applicants, examining data accuracy, and staying current with federal and state rules.

Qualificações

• Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy, practices, and procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations related to public assistance programs.
• Working knowledge of computerized eligibility systems.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to use tact and empathy with diverse clients and staff.
• Demonstrates effective interview and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team.
• Basic mathematical calculation ability.
• A degree is not required.

Responsabilidades

• Review all eligibility recommendations and information from contract staff.
• Make eligibility determinations for benefits and waiver programs per rules and guidelines.
• Examine data matches to find inconsistencies and unreported data.
• Approve claims referred and calculated by the Contractor.
• Conduct full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF and Medicaid applicants.
• Stay current on changes in rules and guidelines for benefit programs.
