Job summary

Hope Network / Westwood in Flint is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for 1st & 2nd shifts on a part-time basis (24 hours). The DSP will support individuals with daily living, community participation, and personal care, ensuring safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include monitoring health, crisis prevention, and documentation, while building trusting relationships with clients and care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to become CPR/First Aid certified.
• Commitment to weekend/holiday shifts as part of schedule.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety 24/7 with various checks.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
• Establish trusting, empathetic relationships through consistent communication.
• Help individuals participate in social, leisure, and community activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living (getting to places, dressing, bathing, cooking).
• Monitor health metrics and relay information to care team.
• Attend medical appointments and relay information accurately.
• Document care plans and progress timely.
