Job summary

Hope Network / Harbor House is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for 2nd and 3rd shift on a part-time basis in Bay City, MI. The DSP will support individuals in daily living activities, safety, and community participation while collaborating with a care team.

The role requires empathy, reliability, and the ability to work weekends/holidays. A high school diploma, a valid Michigan driver's license, and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Michigan driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid recommended or required.
• Commitment to scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety 24/7 through various checks.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
• Establish collaborative relationships built on trust and empathy.
• Foster partnerships with individuals served, the community, and professionals.
• Help develop problem-solving, communication, and independence skills.
• Assist with social, leisure, and community activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living (hygiene, dressing, meals, etc.).
• Monitor medical vitals and relay information to care team.
• Participate in medical appointments and share updates with providers.
• Document care plans accurately and timely.
• Connect individuals with community opportunities and employment goals.
