The SouthCarolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Manager - Investigations to perform initial investigations of child abuse and neglect, conduct safety assessments, and coordinate services for children and families in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with law enforcement and other professionals, maintain detailed records, and participate in ongoing training to stay certified. A passion for protecting vulnerable populations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field and one year experience in a related field.
• Master's Degree or higher may substitute for required work experience.

Responsabilités

• Performs initial investigations of reports of child abuse or neglect and offers services to children and families.
• Responds to intakes within time frames to conduct safety assessments using FAST.
• Engages families and professionals with empathy; collaborates with law enforcement and legal when safety concerns exist.
• Locates and engages absent parents, relatives and fictive kin to support the child welfare team.
• Recommends interventions and documents services on the Family Permanency Plan.
• Maintains case records per policy; ensures documentation in CAPSS system meets standards.
• Maintains child welfare certification; completes 20 hours of annual training.
• Monitors personal well-being and applies trauma-informed practices to support families.
• Protects PII and agency networks; operates securely.
