Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services seeks a Child Welfare Services Team Leader – Investigations to supervise case managers, coach staff, and ensure timely, safety-focused investigations in child welfare. This role emphasizes accountability, policy fidelity, and collaboration with families and professionals.

Responsibilities include ensuring FAST documentation, coordinating team meetings, managing on-call coverage, and supporting staff development through training and evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science required.
• Master's Degree or higher may substitute for required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to case managers in Child Welfare Service Investigations.
• Ensures timely and safety-focused initial investigations and addresses risk and safety concerns.
• Promotes safety, permanency and well-being by ensuring fidelity to policy and conducting meetings and reviews.
• Ensures FAST documentation is completed within policy time frames and CAPSS reflects up-to-date information.
• Participates in hiring, training, and evaluations of staff; supports on-call duties.
