State of South Carolina is seeking a CWS Case Manager - FamilyPreservation to perform time-limited case management in the Child Welfare area. The role emphasizes safety, permanency, and well-being, with timely referrals and collaborative planning with families and professionals.

Responsibilities include on-call duties, documentation per policy, and engaging absent relatives. Opportunities include ongoing training and opportunities for career progression within the Division of Child Welfare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science required.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field plus one year related experience acceptable.
• Selected positions may prefer a Master's Degree; Child Welfare experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide time-limited interventions and assess safety concerns per DSS policy.
• Complete and update FAST; develop Family Permanency Plans and timely referrals.
• Engage families and professionals with empathy; join child and family team meetings.
• Maintain case records per policy; document in CAPSS and ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with legal when safety concerns exist or legal action is needed.
• Maintain state child welfare certification; complete 20 training hours yearly.
• Pursue self-care to mitigate secondary trauma; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Perform shelter duties and other duties as required.
