Job summary

MSD is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to educate key stakeholders and communicate our oncology vision. This field-based role covers the Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts territory with travel as needed.

You will collaborate with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and other specialists to meet sales goals while delivering patient-centered solutions and building strong accounts. A bachelor’s degree with sales experience and willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience.
• High school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred (pharma/biotech/medical devices) even if not in sales.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive within the territory.
• Travel 10–15% as required; reside near the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Collaborate with territory counterparts to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Communicate a patient-centered rationale for oncology products to stakeholders.
• Understand cancer staging, treatment options, pathways and guidelines.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple channels.
• Review patterns for products purchased and prescribed (outpatient vs inpatient, hospital or GPO).
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with the local team and district manager.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs.
• Ensure a consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with the team.
