Berry Appleman & Leiden (BAL) in Houston, TX seeks a Case Coordinator to support immigration practice. You will handle intake of start materials, verify documents, and prepare files for assignment to legal teams, with frequent client and colleague interaction.

The role emphasizes accuracy, strong organizational skills, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma and at least 1 year office experience are required, with a preference for exposure to legal or immigration work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate’s degree or 2 years of college preferred.
• Experience in an office environment; direct client contact helpful.
• Immunization to confidentiality and discretion is essential.

Responsibilities

• Initiate cases through direct client interaction (phone, email).
• Track employer/employee information and documentation for case assignment.
• Respond to routine client queries and escalate to Manager as needed.
• Open projects in the firm’s database and update records accordingly.
• Ensure documentation is complete and returned timely; follow up with nonresponsive individuals.
• Coordinate and organize incoming case start materials in the database.
• Assist with miscellaneous projects and administrative duties as needed.
