Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years clerical experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Unit secretary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general secretarial and clerical duties to support IMCU operations.
• Complete physician order process and order entry.
• Answer call lights and relay messages to appropriate staff.
• Ensure proper closing of charts and handoffs to Data Coordinator upon discharge.
• Greet patients and families, act as receptionist and maintain professional interactions.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately and confirm RN approvals.
• Receive and relay messages from Lab, X-Ray, Admitting, etc.
• Confirm lab requisitions and ensure timely processing.
• Manage workload prioritization and maintain accurate logs.
• Enter work orders for maintenance, biomed, and IT as needed.
• Coordinate with Environmental Services for room cleaning.
• Ensure 100% compliance with ADT and computer status.
• Document unit activity and discharge/transfer logs.
• Submit Occurrence Reports as required.
• Interface with Patient Concierge to address family needs.
