Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Medical ICU at the Main Campus in Cleveland. The role supports critical care, with a patient-centered focus and a collaborative care team. You will work under RN supervision and participate in day/night rotations on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities include facilitating admissions, rounds, documentation, and patient-family communication, while maintaining unit operations and equipment troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role.
• Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
• Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
• Assist with unit clerical functions and troubleshoot equipment failures, such as call system and portable phones.
