Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join the division's leadership team. This role supports the Director of Nursing in providing leadership and oversight for a specific unit/department, directing and coordinating nursing and patient care delivery for unit-based staff.

The position emphasizes holistic, patient-centered care, adherence to regulatory standards, and collaboration to maintain quality and cost-effective outcomes across transitions of care in Maryland.

Qualifications

• Must have IMC or Critical Care nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required.
• Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field preferred.
• 3-4 years progressive nursing care experience required; leadership experience preferred.
• RN licensure in MD or DC; CPR required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Support and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to provide leadership for a unit/department.
• Direct and coordinate nursing and patient care delivery for unit-based staff.
• Ensure holistic, safe, and evidence-based nursing care for patients and families.
• Foster quality, safety, and cost-conscious care outcomes; adherence to standards.
• Lead during a specific shift and drive regulatory and accreditation compliance.
