Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join the nursing leadership team and support the Director of Nursing in providing oversight for a unit/department. This role directs the delivery of holistic, patient-centered, evidence-based care and ensures smooth patient transitions across the continuum of care.

The position requires 3-4 years of progressive nursing experience, a Bachelor’s in Nursing, and a Master’s in Nursing or a health-related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required.
• Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from a nationally accredited program preferred.
• 3-4 years progressive nursing care experience; leadership/management experience preferred.
• RN licensure in MD or DC; CPR certification required within 90 days; specialty certs may vary by dept.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nursing and patient care delivery for the unit/department.
• Support the Director of Nursing and ensure high-quality, safe, cost-effective care.
• Oversee patient transitions across the continuum of care.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and MedStar Health policies.
