Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join the Division of Nursing leadership. You will oversee unit-based nursing and patient care, collaborate with the Director of Nursing, and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires RN licensure in DC, a BSN, and leadership experience; a MSN or related field is preferred. This position reports to Nursing leadership and contributes to Magnet/Excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program.
• Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of progressive nursing care experience required.
• Leadership and management experience preferred.
• RN licensure in the District of Columbia required; specialty certification preferred.
• CPR certification required; EFM certification within 12–15 months from hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for a unit/department.
• Direct and coordinate nursing and patient care delivery.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
