Job summary

Advocate Health in Matthews, NC seeks a Radiology Support Associate to perform basic diagnostic X‑rays under supervision, help patients understand procedures, and prep for exams while preserving patient safety in the absence of the technologist.

You will assist with ordering and handling contrast media, support multiple imaging modalities, and help with RIS/EMR workflow, patient mobility, and clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of a career in medical imaging.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Assists patients with questions about procedures and safety.
• Prepares patients for exams and ensures safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media as directed.
• Assists in diagnostic exams across modalities (Rad/Fluro, CT, MRI, etc.) including contrast administration.
• Retrieves patient orders and requisitions in RIS/EMR and related systems.
• Assists patients with restroom and other basic clinical support needs.
• Supports administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory and compliance requirements.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Certificate or degree in medical imaging field (in progress)
