Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Radiology support assistant in the Pineville radiology/x-ray area. This student role is PRN with rotating shifts, ideal for someone enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Sonography program.

You will assist with exam prep, patient instruction, and front-line coordination in a busy imaging suite. No prior experience required; you’ll gain exposure to radiology workflows, patient transport, and equipment handling while supporting technologists

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ARRT/ARDMS-accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• GED or High School Diploma or equivalent.
• None required; student position with rotating PRN schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient in exam preparation and provide basic instructions.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules and obtain patient data.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies and maintain equipment as needed.
• Greet patients and answer routine information requests and schedule appointments.
• Serve as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provide radiology images/reports upon request and file health records.
• Document information and communicate patient needs to the health care team.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment.
• Assist with MRI implant screening as required.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care knowledge for patients.
