Job summary

NorthBay Health Imaging Support Specialist manages billing documentation, authorizations, and patient intake for imaging exams. You will verify insurance details and schedule multiple modalities, ensuring timely care and accurate data entry in the patient information system.

Role requires HIPAA knowledge, excellent customer service, and ability to handle subpoenas and medical records requests. Inpatient transports may be required in this role.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Licensure: Current BLS Certification required.
• Experience: General clerical, 1+ year in a medical office setting, preferably radiology, with HIPAA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Obtain billing documentation and authorizations for all imaging exams.
• Interview patient or representative to collect accurate demographics and insurance information.
• Verify and document eligibility and benefits for payor.
• Schedule exams for multiple diagnostic modalities.
• Input patient demographics into the facility information system.
• Answer multi-line switchboard and route calls accordingly.
• Input updates/changes to daily/weekly schedule and patient record.
• Prepare and process subpoenas and medical records requests.
• Process incoming exam reports and prepare items for mailing/faxing.
• Collect patient co-pays and/or account payments.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and privacy protections.
• For inpatient role, patient transports may be required.
