Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a hybrid Imaging Scheduling Specialist to join Imaging Support Svcs Hedrick. You will handle inbound calls for scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling, process imaging orders, verify information, and communicate with clinic providers to ensure accurate referrals and authorizations.

Responsibilities include coordinating with radiologists and clinics, managing Epics work queues, and assisting patients with exam prep and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Experience with patient registration or scheduling preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound calls to schedule/cancel/reschedule imaging appointments.
• Review imaging orders for scheduling information and accuracy.
• Coordinate with clinicians for order changes and approvals.
• Review referrals/orders and communicate changes to providers.
• Process referrals into Epic and manage imaging records.
• Assist with insurance authorization reviews and rescheduling as needed.
• Provide patient prep information for imaging exams.
• Prepare necessary paperwork for scheduled procedures.
