Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a dedicated imaging support professional at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

The role focuses on patient education, safe transport, and aiding technologists during radiology procedures, with emphasis on accuracy in PACS/EMR documentation and strict adherence to radiation safety. In this full-time day position, you will contribute to smooth patient flow, accurate identifications, and efficient post-procedure tasks, including room preparation and inventory

Qualifications

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patient to ensure understanding and provide educational materials.
• Transport patients and verify identity; assist technologists with radiology prep and positioning.
• Assist with PACS/EMR documentation as needed.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Post-procedure duties including discharge, room cleanup, and inventory/restocking supplies.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Explain procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provide appropriate educational material.
• Transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assist technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure.
• Assist technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Perform post procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies.Assist with inventory control.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider Preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
