Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Idaho is seeking an Admitting/Scheduling Clerk for outpatient imaging and cardiopulmonary services. You will schedule procedures, verify patient demographics and insurance, and create Pre-Registration accounts to ensure accurate and timely processing.

The role requires strong clerical skills, English proficiency, and HIPAA compliance, with responsibilities spanning call handling, documentation, and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Previous admitting or clerical experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Office-typing and computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and promptly schedule Outpatient Imaging and Cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Answer incoming calls, take complete messages, and redirect as needed.
• Obtain complete orders before scheduling; verify demographics and insurance for accuracy.
• Create complete Pre-Registration accounts for all appointments.
• Use scheduling lists to contact patients and record communication attempts.
• Provide patients with preparation instructions, directions, and check-in times.
