Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and perform routine radiographic procedures in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will mentor junior staff and students, ensuring safety and quality across imaging services.

Requirements include completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days, and BLS from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• Current ARRT registration or registry-eligible with 90 days to obtain active status.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure accuracy.
• Operates radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Performs imaging procedures per protocol, including any necessary placements and contrast administration.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Conducts quality control per regulatory standards and initiates remediation as needed.
• Supports departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
