Job summary

The role includes flexibility to cover shifts across facilities. Required is completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT registration or eligibility within 90 days, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment according to protocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast).
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures and remediation as warranted.
• Assists in department operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication to patient population and privacy considerations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
